School Calendar- New River is open year-round. We remain open during summer and spring break. We offer an additional summer camp for our Pre-K children (4/5 year olds) with exciting fieldtrips, creative activities, and fun adventures. Our school is only closed during holidays listed: New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, President’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day.
Security: New River has a double door security system with a numerical pass code to enter the school’s lobby and a fingerprint system to access the second door to the school classrooms. We have a fully lit parking lot and are conveniently located next to Ft. Lauderdale fire department’s headquarters.
Open Visiting Policy: We have an open door policy in place that allows our current parents to visit or “check-up” on their child as often as needed. The school hallways have windows for parents to view their child’s interactions at any time without being seen by their child. Parents are encouraged to participate in special school activities and holiday parties. Tours: Center tours are given Monday through Friday. You may schedule a tour anytime between 10am and 2pm, to avoid our peek drop-off and pick-up times. Children are more than welcome to accompany their parents for the tour. You will see our classrooms, Village (indoor playroom) and outdoor play environment that is fully equipped with age appropriate play structures that are adequately shaded and completely surrounded by plush padding and artificial grass. You will receive information on our proven curriculum, nutrition programs, school accreditations, and classroom activity schedules. If the teachers in your child’s age group are available, we will introduce them to you and your child. Once the tour is completed, we are available to answer any and all questions you may have about our school and programs. You will leave with plenty of reading material to help you make the best decision when choosing a new learning center for your child(ren).
