"It is our mission to partner with parents and community to build a sound educational foundation for each child to reach his/her fullest
potential in a loving, safe, and nurturing environment."
Parents of young children who live or work near downtown Fort Lauderdale now have additional educational and social opportunities with the opening of the New River Child Care/Learning Center. The 10,800 sq. ft. facility, which opened its doors on Monday, March 17, is custom-designed to maximize the social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development of children from six weeks to five years of age.
New River, just north of Broward Boulevard on NW 7th Avenue, is the new name and home for Tutor Time Fort Lauderdale, a family-owned business that was at the base of the office tower at 100 SE 3rd Avenue for two decades. The Ajakie family will continue to provide kid-focused care and education, as they and their staff have since 1994, and are the driving forces behind the move to the new location.
“We’ve traditionally had an enrollment waiting list and the additional space enables us to accommodate considerably more families,” said Owner/Operator Anthony Ajakie. “We’re also taking the secure, loving environment we’ve always had and merging it with a brand new facility that better reflects the best practices in today’s early childhood education.”
The New River Child Care/Learning Center is accredited by APPLE and Gold Seal and recently had a 100% VPK readiness rate among nearly 30 children who graduated in 2013. It features an experienced teaching staff and age-appropriate curriculum that focuses on the growth and development needs of each child. The school, which includes VPK, offers families full and part-time programs, daily lunch and snacks, and an HD audio/video security monitoring system.
